Oberfeldarzt Dr. Benny Schulz joined the German Armed Forces in 1995 and completed his basic military service in the Panzergrenadier troop, before he switched to the career of medical officers in 1997. After completing his studies in human medicine in 2003 at the University of Leipzig, he initially worked as an assistant doctor for ear, nose and throat medicine at the Bundeswehr hospital in Leipzig. This was followed by assignments as a troop doctor in Bremerhaven and Hanover before he was deployed from 2007 to 2009 as head of the medical squadron in Celle. In 2010 he continued his specialist training in ear, nose and throat medicine at the German Armed Forces Hospital in Hamburg. As part of his training, he was employed as an assistant doctor at a civilian clinic for a year. He completed a total of four missions abroad, two in Kosovo (2008, 2013) and two more in Afghanistan (2010, 2012).

In 2015 he attended the staff officer course at the command academy of the Bundeswehr in Hamburg and in 2016 he was selected to participate in the general staff / admiralty staff course nationally at the command academy.

From 2018 to 2020 he was head of the medical service command of the Bundeswehr in Koblenz with a focus on operations and strategic analyzes.

Since 2020 he has served as a liaison officer for the inspector of the medical service in Berlin.

He received his doctorate from the University of Leipzig in 2007 and is a specialist in ear, nose and throat medicine and has an additional qualification in emergency medicine.

He has been a member of the CNSS since 2019 and a member of the board since 2021.
