Oberstleutnant i.G. Robert Rönsch joined the German Armed Forces in 2002 as a basic military service provider and in 2003 decided to become an officer in the mountain troops. After several years of military training, he served from 2011 to 2013 as platoon leader and company operations officer in the Mountain Infantry Battalion 232 in Bischofswiesen / Strub and from 2013 to 2015 as a company commander in Security Battalion 12 in Hardheim. In 2014 he attended the staff officer course at the command academy of the Bundeswehr in Hamburg. Afterwards he was entrusted with the education and training of young non-commissioned officers and officers as head of inspection at the Army NCOs in Delitzsch and as lecture hall manager at the Infantry Training Center in Hammelburg. Since 2017 he has been taking part in the general staff / admiral staff course nationally at the command academy of the Bundeswehr.

He completed his studies in business education at the University of the Federal Armed Forces in Munich in 2011 with a diploma. As part of the LGAN, he deals with the analysis of the strategic realignment of the Republic of Turkey, which he wrote as a thesis in the master’s course „Military Leadership and International Security“ at the Helmut Schmidt University / University of the Federal Armed Forces in Hamburg using a scenario technique for future analysis will evolve.

He has been a full member of the Clausewitz Network for Strategic Studies since 2018 and a member of the Executive Board since 2019.
